**********************************Per the request of the family, masks will be required********************************************** Adelino Silva Tavares, 84, of Brockton passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston.He was the husband of Maria Fragoso Tavares. Born in Brava, Cape Verde on March 11, 1937, he was the son of the late Anilba Tavares and Maria Silva Tavares. Adelino liked sports, spending time with his family and scratching scratch tickets. In addition to his wife, Maria, Adelino is survived by his children Fernando Tavares, Verronica Dasilva Tavares, Virginia Fragoso Tavares, Hernani Lopes and Fatima Fragoso; as well as 26 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul on Thursday, January 6th at 10:00AM in St. Edith Stein Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
