Agnes (Berghaus) Tennihan Kelly, 96, of Brockton, died peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on February 19, 1929, in Jamaica Plain, the youngest of five children of the late William and Mary Berghaus. Agnes graduated from Jamaica Plain High School and worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance in Boston. She married Joseph Tennihan and moved to Brockton where she made her home and raised her family. Agnes worked for over 50 years at Crystal Cleaners on the West Side of Brockton. She was fondly remembered by her many customers and friends for her outgoing personality and vivacious spirit.

Agnes enjoyed her life to the fullest; music, dancing, yard sales, lunches with friends, and traveling to places such as Paris with her dear friend Nancy Carter. She also spent many wonderful summers at her cottage on Mayflower Beach in Dennis with her children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends.

Agnes is survived by her children, Robert Tennihan and his wife Christine, and Claire Infussi and her husband Richard. She was preceded in death by her husband John Kelly and her former husband Joseph Tennihan. She was the sister of the late Mildred, William, Raymond and Charles Berghaus.

Agnes was the devoted grandmother to three grandchildren, Maura Bernasconi and her husband Jeffrey, Mark Tennihan and his fiancé Gina Mason, and Ashley Clapper and her husband Mike. Agnes was also the loving great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren, and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Her family will always remember her strong work ethic, and everything that she did for her family, friends, and customers.

Calling hours on Tuesday, September 2nd from 9:00-11:00 AM in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow in Melrose Cemetery.
