Online Obituaries Albert H. (Babe) Florio, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2017 following a brief illness. He was the loving husband of the late Doris (Ruggeiri) Florio. Albert was born in Brockton, youngest son of Enrico and Josephine (Licursi) Florio. He was educated in the Brockton schools and after serving in the U.S. Navy, stationed in the Pacific during WWII he went on to become a very well-known jockey. Babe also loved gardening and was an avid sportsman. He is survived by two daughters and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven brothers and one sister.
