Obituary

Albert F. Murray, Sr., 90, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at his home under the care of his family and hospice. He was the beloved husband of Loretta A. (Farrell) Murray for 61 years. Born January 21, 1928 in Dorchester, he was the son of the late Vernon McKeen and Cora (McGurr) Murray. Raised in Dorchester, he attended Boston Schools before serving in the United States Army. Albert was a retired Truck Driver. Prior to being a Truck Driver, he was a Cloth Cutter. He enjoyed singing at St. Paul's Church and St. Leo's Church in Boston, St Coleman's Church in Brockton and St. John Church in East Bridgewater. He loved singing in Barbershop Quartet for over 40 years. He was an avid bicyclist and weight lifter. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Albert F. Murray, Jr. and his wife Beth, Bill V. Murray and his wife Susan, Karen M. MacDonald and her husband Rich, Michael J. Murray and his wife Maria and Edward D. Murray and his wife Janice; his grandchildren, Meghan Murray, David Murray, Michael R. Murray, Joshua Murray, Jason Murray, Karalyn Thayer, Melissa Kirchner, Michael J. Murray, Nick Murray and Ben Murray; his great-grandchildren, Ronan and James; his siblings, Richard McKeen; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Helen Hill and Mary Murray. Following Cremation, a Memorial Gathering will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rt28) West Bridgewater on Thursday, May 10th from 4:00-8:00PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul on Friday, May 11th at 10:30AM in St. John Church, 210 Central St., East Bridgewater. Interment will follow in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
