Obituary

Albert J. Scibetta Albert J. Scibetta , Coach of the Year, 72, of Margate, FL, died Friday, November 16, 2007 following a brief illness. He was the husband of Carol (Daru) Scibetta. Born May 15, 1935 in Boston, he was the son of the late Gaetano "Guy" Rose E. (Gusmini) Scibetta. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. Mr. Scibetta was a supervisor of Public Works for the city of Coral Springs until his early retirement. In his youth, Mr. Scibetta played varsity basketball, baseball and football. His main love was football which he continued to play until he was 35 years old. He played offense and defense in high school and was often named to the Patriot Ledger's All Scholastic team. Following his playing years, he turned to coaching and was just as successful coaching many teams including the Randolph Oilers Semi-pro football team in the Eastern Mass Football League. He was named coach of the year in 1975 and 1977 coaching the team to a winning record. In addition to his wife, Mr. Scibetta is survived by his sons Steven and Derek Scibetta and granddaughter Brittany of Florida; his brother Salvatore and two sisters, Linda Connolly and Roberta "Bobbi" Richloff of MA. He is predeceased by his daughter Dawn, and son, Jeffrey as well as two brothers Guy and Louis J. Scibetta. Funeral Information Funeral will be held Saturday at St. Edith Stein Church, 71 East Main St., Brockton where a memorial mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private at a later date.
