Alberto J. "Patiu" Fortes, Sr. Alberto J. "Patiu" Fortes, Sr. , 72, of Brockton, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011 in Brockton. He was the former husband of Arminda Fortes. Born January 15, 1939 in Brava, Cape Verde, he was the son of the late Joao M. Fortes and Eufrezima Mendes Fortes. He enjoyed to socialize with his family and friends and to sing. He is survived by his children, Alberto J. Fortes, Jr., and his wife Debbie, Domingo Fortes, Jean Fortes, Joyce Fortes, Cara Fortes and Marc Fortes; his siblings, Jack Fortes and his wife Idalina, Victoria Fortes, John B. Fortes, Maria Fortes, Pedro Fortes and his wife Marina, Paul Fortes and his wife Matilde, Maria Fatima Fortes, Bento Fortes and his wife Cindy, Isabel and Lin Fortes, Sdevalina and Jojo Fortes and Arminda and Lin Barros. He is also survived by his several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Aurelio Fortes. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Monday at 11:00AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 12:00PM.
