Aldevina Goncalves Rodrigues, age 80, of Taunton, passed away peacefully at her home on January 7, 2026, under the compassionate care of hospice, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 25, 1945, in Fogo Mosteiro, Cape Verde.

A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Aldevina found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. She deeply enjoyed going to church, cooking for her family, shopping, crocheting, and occasional trips to the casino. Her warmth, strength, and love for family were at the center of her life.

She is survived by her beloved children: Maria Isabel Barbosa Vicente, Maria Filomena Barbosa Vicente, Carla Paulina Barbosa Vicente, Natalina Barbosa Vicente, and Jesuino S. Barbosa Vicente. She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Aldevina is survived by her sisters, Anna Rodrigues Fernandes and Alina Rodrigues Fernandes. She was the sister of the late Humberto GoncalvesRodrigues, Celsidonio Goncalves Rodrigues, Maria C. Galvao, Otelio Goncalves Rodrigues, Irene Alves, and Silverio Alves.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and her dedicated Old Colony Hospice team for their compassionate care and support.

Aldevina will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 15th from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16th at 9:00 AM in the funeral home, followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
