Alex Augusto Goncalves Moniz transitioned unexpectedly on May 7th, 2022, in Somerville, MA. At the early age of 37. Alex is survived by his mother, Isabel F. Goncalves, his father Carlos M. Moniz, and his siblings; Maisa Moniz, Carlos B. Moniz, Bruna Moniz, Catia Moniz, Casia Moniz, Keita Moniz, Elder Moniz, Carla F. Moniz, Lauro Andrade, and Autalina Silva. He is also survived by his grandparents, uncles, aunts, and many cousins. Alex was born in Praia, Cabo Verde, but lived in Brockton, MA for all his teenage years and part of his adult life, surrounded by his family and friends. Alex was known for his creativity, artistic skills, intelligence, love for literature, humor, love for his family, humanity, and for being a listener as well as a giver. He lived life to the fullest through simple measures. Alex was always laughing and had a contagious laughter you could not miss. Alex was a veteran who served in the U.S Army. During his time on this earth, he spread a lot of love and positivity and we ask that you continue to spread this to yourself, among your family, friends, community, and human race.
