Alexa Tsokanis, 53, of Braintree, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 27, 2018 after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Alexa grew up in Brockton and attended the public schools there before matriculating to Simmons College where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree. She had a successful career in the financial services industry and most recently served as a Senior Project Manager at BNY Mellon. Alexa will always be remembered as a devoted friend, role model and source of inspiration by the many people whose lives she touched during her lifetime. She was active in numerous organizations and causes, including her involvement over several years with Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Best Buddies Challenge Hyannis Port and Simmons Alumnae College Association as president of her graduating class. She is survived by her father, Peter Tsokanis of Peabody; her brother and sister-in-law, Luke and Amy Tsokanis of Nahant; her niece, Rita and her nephew, Peter. She was the daughter of the late Bessie (Zotos) Tsokanis. Calling hours will be held in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 54 South Common St., Lynn on Tuesday, September 4th from 4:00-8:00PM. Funeral services will be held in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Lynn on Wednesday, September 5th at 11:00AM. Private burial will be held in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton at a later date.
