Obituary

Alfred M. “Al” Gambao, age 89, of West Bridgewater, passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2016. Al was born and raised in West Bridgewater, a son of the late Armando and Clara (Silva) Gambao , and remained a lifelong resident of the town. Following his high school graduation, Al was enlisted in the Army Air Corps during WWII, before returning to take part in the family business.
Al was the owner of A.M. Gambao & Sons, which specialized in truck bodies in West Bridgewater. His life revolved around his work and business- so much that he never actually retired! He was a hardworking man who was always there to lend a hand. When not hard at work, you could find him chatting with other patrons at local establishments. Additionally, Al had been a board member of Bridgewater Savings Bank for many years and had an association with multiple charities.
Al leaves behind a close cousin, Eldon Moreira of West Bridgewater, and many friends and family members.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte.123) Brockton on Saturday April 9, from 9am to 12noon. A graveside service will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater.
