In Loving Memory of Alfred Aurele Legault August 8, 1941 – August 8, 2025

Alfred (Fred) A. Legault, aged 84, of Brockton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and unwavering generosity.

Born on August 8, 1941, Fred's life journey came full circle as he departed this world on his birthday, surrounded by the warmth of family and cherished memories.

Fred was born, raised, and educated in Brockton, the son of the late Alfred and Bessie (Gibbons) Legault. Fred was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his country with honor from 1961 to 1964. His sense of duty and patriotism remained a quiet, guiding force throughout his life.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of almost 52 years, Marie I. Legault. Their enduring partnership was a testament to love, commitment, and the strength of family.  He is survived by his son Joseph and husband, Kevin (Casimiro) Legault and his daughter Lisa Legault. He was the devoted grandfather of Lukas Bailey, Karli Legault and Lydia Legault.

Fred is also survived by his siblings: Irene Hammond of Middleboro, Paul Legault of Brockton, and David Legault of Rochester, as well as many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his warmth and quiet strength.

His life was rooted in loyalty and care—for his family, his community, and the people whose lives he quietly touched. Fred's legacy will live on in the hearts and stories of those who knew him best.

It is with great compassion and gratitude that the family thanks Ellen, sister-in-law and companion for the past eight years, for the exceptional love and care she provided to Fred. Her unwavering support was a source of comfort and dignity throughout his later years.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Brockton VNA Hospice in honor of Alfred Legault. Contributions will support their mission of providing compassionate care to patients and families during life's most tender moments. Donations may be made online at www.brocktonvna.org.

A Graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday at 12:00PM in Calvary Cemetery.  Calling hours omitted.
