Algrid J. "Al" Pechulis, 70, of Brockton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 10, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center.
Born June 24, 1950 in Boston, he was the son of the late Algrid F. Pechulis and Lillian E. (Masilionis) Pechulis.
Al moved with his family at an early age and grew up on the Aramco compound in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. They would travel extensively around the world. Upon returning to the States in 1963, he resided in Walpole and then Brockton.
He was a song writer and musician. He played in several popular groups both in the States and in Canada. He loved playing music with his friends, bandmates and his son Jon. He would more often than not have his guitar with him. Al was very supportive of the independent musician and music outlets. Music was his joy in life…
Besides music he loved being a huge Red Sox fan, and would often have his worn Red Sox baseball hat on or his trademark scally cap. He also loved cooking and Chili was one of his many specialties.
Al suffered from a rare neurological disease Spasmodic Dysphonia, which eventually affected his voice.
Al's last job, due to his no voice issue, was cooking bbq, chili, ribs etc. After working for Washington Mutual Bank, traveling the country teaching computer programs to employees.
Al is survived by his siblings, Pamela Asacker and her husband Peter, Tami Hallamore and her husband Rob and Todd Pechulis and his wife Karen; his son, Jonathan P. Bonner; his close friend David Karahalis; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A private burial will be held this week. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when Covid-19 restrictions allows, complete with music, chili and friends.
