Shemeta, of Brockton, January 5, 2003, Alice E. (Sherman) Shemeta, 81 years. Wife of the late Joseph E. Shemeta. Sister of Elizabeth “Betty” Ricketson, devoted friend of Sister Marion Reardon, SCN and Arlene Bushey.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 9am. Funeral Mass in St. Edward Church at 10am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Wednesday 2-4pm.

Obituary Information

Mrs. Shemeta died Sunday evening at the Brockton Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Brockton, a daughter of the late Joseph T. and Margaret L. (Leary) Sherman. She attended Brockton Schools, and was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1939. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse, who was employed as a private duty nurse in the Brockton area.

She is survived by a sister Elizabeth “Betty” Ricketson of Urbana, Illinois, several nieces and nephews and friends Sister Marion Reardon, SCN and Arlene Bushey.

She was the wife of the late Joseph E. Shemeta; sister of the late Robert J. Sherman; Lawrence F. Sherman; Francis Sherman; George Sherman; Joseph Sherman, Jr.; Sister Mary Roch Sherman, SCN; Catherine Sherman and Mary Swanson
