Obituary

Alice Mae (Banks) Solomon Alice Mae (Banks) Solomon , 92 years, of Brockton, died peacefully in her home on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 after an extended illness. She was the devoted wife the late Rhoderick R. Solomon for sixty five years. Born March 12, 1918 in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late James and Alice Banks and Viola Gale of Brockton. Mrs. Solomon was a beloved elder of the Massachusetts-Ponkapoag tribe and was a very active member of the Brockton Community. She was born into the membership of Lincoln Congregational Church Brockton and was an active member for most of her life. She attended The Lighthouse of Faith In Christ Jesus in recent years. She was a devoted mother and homemaker and worked for a period at the Huntington School. Mrs. Solomon was active in Brockton Senior Center, enjoying The Red Hats, Bingo, Mahjong and bonanza with her friends. She is survived by five children, Gilbert Solomon of Bridgewater, William Solomon of Meriden, CT, Richard Solomon of Brockton, Brenda Green of Braintree and Elizabeth Solomon of Holliston, more than 20 grandchildren, innumerable great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all. She was sister to the late Mildred Baker of Falmouth. Funeral Information Calling hours will be held in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Saturday from 10:00AM-12:00PM followed by a prayer service at 12:00PM. Private cremation will follow.
