Obituary

Allan R. Ashley, age 81, of Hanson, formerly of West Bridgewater, died after a brief illness December 18, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. Allan was the loving husband for 61 years of the late Pauline M. (Damon) Ashley. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, he was the son of the late Charles and Marie (Blair) Ashley. During the Korean War Allan served in the Army. He attended Mass Radio and Telegraph School and had been employed at the Foxboro Company for 36 years, retiring in 2000. Allan had a great sense of humor and enjoyed being a father and grandfather. He also enjoyed all Boston sports teams, woodworking and was a war history buff.

Allan is survived by his children Theresa L. Ashley of Middleboro and James Ashley and his wife Anita of Whitman and a grandson Ian Ashley. He was the father of the late Allan Ashley, Jr. and brother of the late John, Harry and L. Alfred Ashley and Hazel Van Dyke.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Wednesday, December 27 from 1-3pm followed by a Funeral Service at 3pm. Please consider donations in Allan’s name to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
