Alphonso Anderson, Sr.
Alphonso Anderson, 71, of Brockton, died Thursday, November 8, 2007 after injuries he sustained in an automobile accident in Canton. He was the husband of 50 years to Anna Ruth (Williams) Anderson.
Born September 6, 1936 in Columbia, South Carolina, he was the son of the late John Henry Anderson and Rosa Bell (White) Anderson. Raised in South Carolina he then served in the United States Army.
Mr. Anderson was the owner of Chinatown Maintenance Company since 1965. He was very active in Messiah Baptist Church in Brockton where he served as a Deacon. He was an avid New England Patriots fan where he was a proud owner of season tickets. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and growing vegetables and flowers in his garden. He was the past president of the Roxbury Chamber of Commerce. He has been a Brockton resident since 1974.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anna Ruth (Williams) Anderson, his children, Audrey Kachour and her husband Mohamed of Brockton, Alphonso Anderson, Jr., of Tennessee, Darvin Anderson (Brockton Police Dept)and his wife Lanee of Bridgewater, Marshall O. Anderson of Taunton, and the late Diane Lee Burr; his grandchildren, Alphonso Anderson, III, Darvin Anderson, Jr., John Anderson, Mark Anderson, Hope Anderson, and Dwight Burr, Jr.; his brothers and sisters, Claude Anderson, James Anderson, John Anderson, Arthur Anderson, Rosa Lee Lee, Martha Boles, and Mattie Jennings; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral service will be held in Messiah Baptist Church, 80 Legion Parkway, Brockton on Wednesday, November 14th at 11:00AM. Calling hours in the Messiah Baptist Church, 80 Legion Parkway, Brockton on Tuesday 4:00-8:00PM.
