Amelia Pires Barbosa, 68, of Brockton, passed away Sunday,, April 29, 2018 at the home of her daughter under the care of her family. She was the wife of Adriano Barbosa. Born October 20, 1949 in Fogo, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of Clara Pires. Amelia worked for several years at the Massachusetts General Hospital as a housekeeper. She is survived by her loving children, Clarinda Carvalho, Armanda Barbosa, Maria Barbosa, Maria Agusta Barbosa, Anita Barbosa, Sonya Barbosa, M. Conceicao Rosa, Adriano G. Barbosa and Manuel S. Barbosa. She is also survived by her brother and sisters, Maria C. Pires, Alberto Pires, Maria Zinh Pires, Lucia Pires and Maria Santa Pires; she is also survived by 15 grandchildren and many other relatives. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Friday at 9:30AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein Church, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 10:30AM.
