Andres "Matute" Ramos, 62, of Brockton, passed away at his residence on Monday, October 8, 2018 under the care of his family and hospice after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Luz I. Torres.
Born September 9, 1956 in Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Andres Ramos and Victoria Colon. Andres was raised and educated in Puerto Rico. He moved his family to Boston in 1978. They later moved to Brockton in 1979 where he made his home since then.
Andres was a machinist for Draper Metals in Middleboro for the last 30 years. He was a family man who was loved by everyone. Matute was very proud of his favorite antique car that he brought over from Puerto Rico, it was a 1972 Chevy, Malibu. Some of his hobbies were cooking, music and playing dominos. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Luz I. Torres, he is survived by his children, Zomayra Torres, Alfredo Cruz and his wife Yolanda, Wallysvette Cruz and Andres H. Ramos; his grandchildren, Marlena, Elsivette, Alfredo, Jr., Arianalys, Alex, Adamariz, Alondra and Joseph; his great-grandchildren, Jose, Josaiah, Exavier, Jeremiah, A'nylah and Allyana. He is also survived by his many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (RT123), Brockton on Monday, October 15th at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick Church, 335 Main St., Brockton at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00PM-8:00PM.
