Ann C. (Carchidi) DiNunno Ann C. (Carchidi) DiNunno , 94, of Whitman, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2011 in the presence of her daughter, Terry and grandson Tommy with whom she resided with for the last 18 years. She was the wife of the late Michael J. DiNunno. Born October 31, 1916 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Dominic Carchidi and Marion (Sinopoli) Carchidi. Ann graduated from Brockton High School in 1934. While attending Brockton High School, she worked at Woolworths in downtown Brockton until she married her husband Michael in 1941. They were married for 52 years until his passing in 1993. Ann worked for Frank P. Carchidi Insurance Company for 29 years and worked to the age of 82. Ann was involved with the Italian Women's Club where she served as President during the 1960's. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, baking, Gowell's chocolates and spending time with her family. She was devotedly cared for by her daughter Terry, her son-in-law Thomas Altieri and her grandson Tommy. It was at the age of 76 when she was welcomed into her daughter and son-in-law's home and brightened their every day for the next 18 years. Despite having limited vision and dementia for several years, Ann displayed courage and will that mystified all people. Her family would like to thank Old Colony Hospice for the extraordinary care and love that they bestowed upon Ann for the last two years which enabled her to live at home until her passing. She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Altieri; her grandson, Thomas Altieri; her siblings, Samuel Carchidi of Pocasset and Marie Friesen of North Easton. She was the sister of the late Angie Crowe, Jenny Vella and Rose Fossella. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Wednesday, October 19th at 9:00AM thence to St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 10:00AM.
