Online Obituaries Ann M. (Hughes) Smith, 78, of Brockton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 14, 2016. She was the wife of the late Donald M. Smith, Sr. Born May 29, 1938 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late John J. Hughes and Evelyn G. (Mullen) Hughes. A lifelong Brockton resident, she graduated from Brockton High School in 1957. Ann worked as a Quality Control Inspector for Avitar. She also worked at Kmart, Brockton Public School in the Cafeteria Department and Leonards Restaurant. She is survived by her children, Maryann Dodge and her husband Clyde, Jacqueline Leonard and her husband Dana, Donald M. Smith, Jr. and his companion Christine Zachary and Marlo Malone and her husband John Burgo; her grandchildren, Michael Dodge, Melissa Dodge and her companion Mike Ryan, Justin Leonard and his companion Rachel Santoro, Nicholas Malone, Skyla Burgo, Ryan Burgo and Paighton Burgo; her sister-in-laws, Anita Hughes, Ann L. Smith and Anne P. Smith; her loving cat Brady. She was the sister of the late John Hughes.
