Ann M. (Petersen) Thomas, 87, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Baypointe Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Thomas, Sr.

Born on September 17, 1935 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Catherine (DeDomenico) Petersen. Ann graduated from Dorchester High for Girls in 1953.

Ann was the lunch program supervisor for the City of Brockton School System for 30 years before retiring.

Ann most enjoyed spending time with family. She enjoyed travel, shopping, and reading. Ann did extensive volunteering for St. Theresa's Church and the Raymond School kindergarten class and was a member of St. Theresa's Sodality for a number of years. Ann was a member of "Sophisticated Ladies" Dance group that performed at Senior Centers and Nursing Homes. Ann loved going to the beach and card games.

Ann is survived by her six children, Cheryl of Brockton, Mark and wife Brenda of Wolfeboro, NH, Susan and Ed Toohey of Westport, Glenn and Joni of Brockton, Stephen and Lana of Berkley, and Laurie and Joel Jordan of Marshfield; as well as eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Ann is also survived by three sisters, Marie Day of East Bridgewater, Louise Bowdridge of Walpole, and Jean Haggerty of Brockton; her two remaining sisters in law, Nelly Asack and Sheila Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her son Joseph, Jr.; and her sisters Catherine and Doris.

A funeral Service of the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, March 31st at 11:00 AM in Saint Theresa Maronite Catholic Church, 343 N. Main St., Brockton followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours Thursday, March 30th in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt.123) Brockton from 4:00-7:00 PM.
