Anne Fernande Cadet was born in Port-au- Prince, Haiti to mother, Madelaine Sam and father Alphonse Cadet. She was the second oldest of 5 children. She had three brothers Marcel, Gerard, and Sylvain and one sister, Francesca. She attended Caroline Chevereaux secondary school and later took on embroidery as work. Fernande gave birth to her only son Frantz Cadet in 1961 and raised him as a resilient single mom in Avenue Fouchard and then Carrefour. She would always credit her cousin Ernst Paul for his unwavering support in providing for her son. She traveled back and forth to the U.S. from 1985 until 2004 when she moved to Brockton, MA to join her son and his family.

Fernande later lived at Caffrey Towers and then Baypointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center. Fernande was called home in the very early hours on Thursday, May 4th. She is survived by her son Frantz, grandchildren Stephanie, Fadjanie, and Frantz Jr., and her great grandchildren, Jordan, Jada, and Phoenix. As well as her nieces and nephews, Carmélite Cadet Massena, Marie Yolene Cadet, Carolle Pierre Philippe, Rose Daniel, Frantz Cadet, Dulande Cadet, Marie Denise Pierre, Herold Cadet, Maryse Cadet and their families in addition to her cousins Ernst, Kesner, Max Paul and their families.

She will always be remembered as a loving mom, who enjoyed attending mass, cooking for family and friends, and who loved watching her favorite show, the Price is Right. May her soul rest in peace.

Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St.,(Rt.123) Brockton on Saturday, May 20th at 8:00AM followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00AM in Christ the King Parish, 54 Lyman Street, Brockton. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton
