Obituary

Anthony C. Giardini, of Braintree and formerly of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully at the age of 69, on Monday, August 24, 2020. Born on March 3, 1951, he was the loving father of Anthony C. Giardini Jr. and his wife Darcy Giardini of Berkley, Christina M. Cash and her husband predeceased Johnny Cash of Bridgewater, and Michael J. Giardini and his wife Melissa Giardini of Lakeville; son of the late Angelo and Lena (DAsti) Giardini; devoted brother of Louise Manning of NY, Joseph Giardini of Carver and Predeceased by Theresa Dumas of Holbrook; dear grandfather of Jaidyn Hurst, Kyle Franco, Alyssa Franco, Corey Cash, Angelena Giardini, Carly Cash, Isabella Giardini, Roman Giardini, and Jenna LoConte; and a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Anthony attended Boston Latin High School before leaving to serve in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1972. Anthony was a Vietnam Veteran serving in Da Nang, Vietnam for 8 months and two days. Tony dedicated his life to public service and most notably loved being an advocate for veterans in need. Tony was very proud of being a Marine, serving his country, and naturally his family. Tony worked for the Boston Veterans Affairs Health Care System retiring as a patient advocate. He found solace around other veterans, more especially his fellow Vietnam Veterans. Anthony volunteered in VA POW meetings and received numerous accolades for his service to veterans to include Commonwealth of Massachusetts House of Representatives for his service to the state's and nation's veterans in need while working at the VA. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rte. 28) West Bridgewater on Monday, August 31st at 10:00AM thence to St. Ann Church, 103 North Main St., West Bridgewater where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:15PM. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Sunday 4:00-8:00PM.
