Online Obituaries Anthony Valentin Milord, 87, of Brockton, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at his home in Brockton under the care of his family and hospice. He was the husband of Renette (Perrin) Milord. Born in Cayes, Haiti, on February 14, 1927. His mother, Julie Milord raised him alone, selling wares in the market. Upon graduating from High School in Cayes, he entered Ecole de Droit et des Sciences Economique des Cayes where he studied law. He then became a teacher at Lycee Phillipe Guerrier, and later, Principal of the school. On December 21, 1963, Anthony married his sweetheart, Renette Perrin at Chris Roi Church in Port-au-Prince. The couple had 4 children and lived in Cayes for the first few years along with his mother and his daughter from a previous relationship. While in Cayes, Anthony became Substitut Commissaire du Gouvernement des Cayes and was elected Prefet twice. Following the tumult of the Duvalier years, he moved to Port-au-Prince in the mid 1970s and ran for Depute where he served his native Cayes for four years. He retired from politics in the late 1970s and established his law career first as Avocat Conseil de la Lotterie de LEtat Haitien while working with his peers. He later worked as Conseiller Juridique de la Banque de la Republique dHaiti, Conseiller Juridique de la Banque Populaire Haitienne and Avocat Conseil ONACA (Office Nationale Cadastre). Upon his retirement, Anthony spent time with his children and grand-children in Massachusetts and Florida. He is survived by his wife, Renette, his 5 children, Marie Josee Joubert, Regine Milord-Mendes, Annick Noel, Anthony Milord, Zela Desrosiers and the late Evelyn and Serge Pierre Louis; he is also survived by 14 grandchildren. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Tuesday, April 1st at 8:00AM followed by a funeral mass in Christ the King Parish, 42 Wendell Ave., Brockton at 9:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00-8:00PM.
