Online Obituaries Antonetta (Salerno) Zibelli, formerly of Brockton passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 on the day of her 94th birthday. She was married for 60 years to the late Augustine Zibelli and was the Mother of Vincent (Jimmy) Zibelli and Nick Zibelli. Born in Bellona, in the Naples region of Italy on September 5, 1921, she was the daughter of Nicola and Florinda Salerno. At the age of 5 her family immigrated to America and settled in East Boston. She married Augustine Gus Zibelli in 1947 and they lived together on the west side of Brockton for 60 years. Their home was the focal point of a neighborhood full of family and friends. She learned the art of sewing at a young age and began working as a seamstress at age 16. In addition to being a long time member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, Antonetta was a talented dress maker. She was a past member of the Emblem Club of Brockton, a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend to all. She is survived by her sons, Vincent Zibelli (and his late wife Andrea) and Nicholas Zibelli and his wife Patricia; her grandchildren, Vincent Zibelli and his wife Julie, David Zibelli, Lisa Carpenter and her husband Cory, Nicole Zibelli, Christina Johns and her husband Ben, Antonette Zibelli, Patricia Zibelli; her great grandson Max Carpenter; her sister-in-law, Josephine Treworgy; and many nieces and nephews. She was the loving sister of the late Andrew, Michael, Sydney, and Americo Salerno. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Friday, September 11th at 8:00AM followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West St., Brockton at 9:00AM. Interment will follow in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00pm - 7:00pm.
