Antonio M. Ribeiro, 89, of Brockton passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Bay Pointe Rehab Center. He was the loving husband of the late Augusta Ribeiro. He then remarried years after her passing to his wife Aldina (Miranda) Ribeiro.
Born December 26, 1929 in Fogo, Cape Verde, Antonio was the son of the late Henrique and Guilhermina (Monteiro) Ribeiro.
Antonio was a farmer and manufactured boats and leather, working for Emerson and Cummings. He enjoyed landscaping, cleaning and being neat, and fishing. He was a handyman and a funny story teller. Antonio was extremely loving and caring, and he was a family man; his family was his pride and joy.
He is survived by his children, Domingos Ribeiro, Henrique Ribeiro, Isidora Fernandes, Maria Teixeira, John Ribeiro, Natalie Ribeiro, Maria Ribeiro Humphrey, Santos Ribeiro, Catarina Ribeiro, Fatima Ribeiro, Henrique Ribeiro and the late Relanda Ribeiro; his siblings, Alexander Ribeiro, Maria Ivone Ribeiro, Maria Ribeiro, Manuel Ribeiro, and the late Etelvina Ribeiro. Antonio is also survived by and gives thanks to long time caregiver Claudia Soares, and many nieces, nephews, and many, many grandchildren.
Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Friday at 9:00AM followed by a funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours Thursday 4:00PM-8:00PM.
