Obituary

Arthur R. “Art” Massa age 89, of Brockton, MA passed away on February 13, 2017 due to injuries caused by a car accident. Art was born on November 30, 1927 in Fall River, MA to the late Bento and Maria (Jacar) Massa.
Art moved from Fall River to Brockton in 1950 to establish his own business, Art’s Auto Seat Covers which later became Art’s Auto and Marine. Art was a hardworking entrepreneur and a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed skiing, golf, tennis, boating, and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Dolores E. (Ventura) Massa, and by his daughter Melody (Massa) Truesdell and her husband David of Plymouth, MA. Art was a devoted grandfather to Christopher Truesdell and his wife Kathleen of San Ramon, CA, and to Katharine (Truesdell) Schmid and her husband Brian of Norwell, MA. He was an adoring Great Grandpa to Ellie, Gabi, Charlie and Colin. Art is also survived by a brother, John Massa, of Westport, MA.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton on Friday 10am to 12pm followed by a Funeral Service at noon. Burial will be private.
