It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Arthur Butler, age 55, of Whitman, on October 22nd. Taken from us far too soon, Arthur was a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend who leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories, an abundance of love, and an immeasurable impact on the lives of those fortunate enough to have known him.
Arthur was a devoted husband to his wife, Renee, and adored his two dogs, Diesel and Daisy. Above all else, Arthur treasured his family and friends. His love for those closest to him was unwavering, and the relationships he built throughout his life were among his greatest joys.
Arthur took great pride in his profession as a dedicated union member of the international Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), Local 4. A hardworking man who loved working with his hands, he found great satisfaction in operating and fixing heavy equipment and taking on projects that allowed him to put his skills and knowledge to use.
His sudden passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot adequately express. At just 55 years old, Arthur had so much more life to live, more memories to make, and more love to share.
He is survived by his wife, Renee, and their cherished dogs, Diesel and Daisy. He also leaves behind his loving siblings, Robert, Catherine, Beverly, Erin, Leah, and Shawn, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory. Arthur was predeceased by his sister, Christine and his parents Beverly and Robert.
Arthur was always the person you could count on. Whether a car broke down, something needed fixing, or someone simply needed a helping hand, he was always just a phone call away. His generosity, dependability, and willingness to help others will forever be remembered and deeply missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 4-8 pm, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton.
