Arhtur A. Mantalos
Arthur A. Mantalos, 88, of Bridgewater and formerly of Brockton, died Saturday evening, March 24, 2007 at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. He was the husband of the late Hariklea "Clara" (Juris) Mantalos.
Born March 18, 1919 in Kalloni, Greece, he was the son of the late Achilles Mantalos and Sultana (Palantzas) Mantalos. Mr. Mantalos came to the United States as the age of 13. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II in Europe.
Mr. Mantalos was a Restauranteur, he had owned and operated the Belmont Lunch and The Parkway Restaurant in Brockton for several years. He has been a Brockton resident since the late 1930's and was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, The Kiwanis Club, and the Pan Macedonian Association. He enjoyed gardening, football, and his German Shepherds. Mr. Mantalos has been a Bridgewater resident for the last 5 years while living with his son.
He is survived by his children, Katherine Wieder of Bridgewater and Achilles "Archie" Mantalos and his wife Susan both of Bridgewater; his grandsons, Athan and Matthew Mantalos of Brockton; his brother, Harry A. Mantalos of Brockton; he is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was the brother of the late George A. Mantalos and Timothy Mantalos.
Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton on Wednesday at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Tuesday evening 5:00-8:00PM.
