Pigeon of Brockton July 24, 2002 Arthur J. Pigeon Jr., 76 years. Beloved husband of Marilyn L. (Manning) Pigeon. Loving father ofMaureen Pigeon, Denise M. Pigeon, Joseph P. and his wife Jean all of Brockton, David and his wife Margaret of Bridgewater, Ann M. Austin and her husband Richard of Bridgewater, Michael A. and his wife Teri of Lakeville, John L. and his wife Carol of W. Bridgewater and Claire L. Pigeon and her husband Michael Shelby of Brockton.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church, W. Bridgewaterat 9 am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Arthur’s memory may be made to American Diabetes Association Memorial and Honor Program Call Center, P.O. Box 2680, No.Canton, OH 44720.

Obituary

Mr. Pigeon died Wednesday morning at the Brockton VA Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. Born in Brockton, son of the late Arthur J. and Jeannette (Plouf) Pigeon, he had remained a life long resident of Brockton . Mr. Pigeon attended Brockton Schools and the entered the US Navy during WW II. He served on the destroyer USS Heywood L. Edwards in the Pacific and he attended many reunions with its crew.

He retired as a resident engineer from the Department of Capital Planning Operations for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and he was previously a self employed contractor. He had also been a wholesale fish broker and had worked at Producers Dairy.

He was an avid sportsman who loved going to Maine to hunt.He was a lifetime member of Enterprise Club, Brockton and member of the National Rifle Assoc.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Maryilyn L. (Manning) Pigeon Four daughters, Maureen Pigeon, Denise M. Pigeon, Ann M. Austin and Claire Pigeon And four sons, Joseph P., David, Michael A. and John L. A brother Roland Pigeon of Rockland and a sister Lucille Maynard of Lakeville Several grandchildren, nieces and nephewsBrother of the late Edgar Pigeon and Theresa Marston
