Obituary

Arthur E. Rix, age 78, of West Bridgewater, died October 16, 2016 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the husband for 48 years of Patricia (Crowley) Rix. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Ernest L. and Jennie M. (Pepe) Rix. Following graduation from Brockton High School, he enlisted in the Marines and served in Europe. Art was an excellent cook who enjoyed cooking for his family using the skills he learned at the Culinary Institute of America. He had been employed at Moore Business Forms, Standard, and was the owner of Conduit until his retirement. As well as cooking, Art enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing cards.

Art is also survived by three sons, Daniel of Abington, Steven of West Bridgewater and David of East Bridgewater; eleven grandchildren and a sister MaryEllen O’Toole. He was the brother of the late Cameron “Ron” Rix.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday 5-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Friday at 9am for a funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, West Bridgewater at 10 am. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery.
