Obituary

Augustine Zibelli Augustine "Gus" Zibelli, 90, of Brockton died Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at his home after a period of failing health. He was the loving husband of Antonetta (Salerno) Zibelli for 60 years. Born June 13, 1917 in East Boston, he was the son of the late Vincent Zibelli and Rose (DeCembrile) Zibelli. He was a lifelong resident of Brockton. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II. He was 5 times honored as a soldier in the 101st Infantry Yankee Division. He founded and operated the Pleasant Market in Brockton for over 25 years with his father, Vincent and brother, Tony. He is a past member of the Brockton Elks, Sons of Italy, and Brockton Bocce Club. He is survived by his wife, Antonetta (Salerno) Zibelli; his children, Vincent Zibelli and Nicholas Zibelli and his wife Patricia; his grandchildren, Vincent Zibelli, David Zibelli, Lisa Zibelli, Nicole Zibelli, Christina Zibelli, Antonette Zibelli, Patricia Zibelli; his sister, Josephine Treworgy and her husband Donald; he is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Anthony Zibelli and Rae Russo. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton on Tuesday, Sept. 4th at 8:00AM thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 433 West St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 9:00AM. Interment will follow in the V.A. National Cemetery, Bourne. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Monday 2:00PM-5:00PM.
