Bahea "Betty" Akeke Bahea "Betty" Akeke , 86, a lifelong Brockton resident, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at her home in Brockton after a period of failing health. Born January 13, 1923 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Louis G. Akeke and Josephine H. (Akeke) Akeke. Raised in Brockton, she attended Brockton Schools and graduated from Brockton High School in 1941. Betty was a retired Seamstress. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, sewing, baking, and going to Cape Cod. She was a communicant of St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church in Brockton. She was a member of UNITE, International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She is survived by her sisters and brother, Anna Kay, Sarah Akeke, Mary Akeke, George Akeke all of Brockton, and the late Albert Akeke; her sister-in-law, Rose Akeke of Norwood; her nieces, Theresa (Akeke) O'Brien and her husband Timothy of Brockton and Laura Akeke of Norwood; her great-niece, Megan O'Brien; her great-nephew, Matthew O'Brien. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Thursday, April 9th at 9:00AM followed by Services of the Divine Liturgy in St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church, 343 No. Main St., Brockton at 10:00AM. The. Rev. Tony Akoury will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Wednesday 4:00-8:00PM with a Incense Service at 5:30PM.
