Cody of Brockton, February 16, 2002, Barbara M. (Whitten) Cody, 80 years. Wife of the late Brockton Police Chief James P. Cody. Sister-in-law of the late Julia M. Cody. Dear friend of Margaret Sylvia of Brockton.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 8am. Funeral Mass in St. Edward Church at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Tuesday 5-8 pm.

Obituary Information

Mrs. Cody died Saturday in the Braemoor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Brockton after a lengthy illness. Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Leroy A. and Catherine M. (Farrell) Whitten, she had been a life long resident of Brockton. She was a graduate of Brockton High School and continued her education at business school. She retired from General Auto Body after many years of employment as their bookkeeper.She had been a long time communicant of St. Edward ChurchShe enjoyed traveling extensively with the Mac-Tim and AJAM travel groups, and also had been a member of Ireland’s Own of Brockton. She also enjoyed ceramics.

She is survived by a dear friend Margaret Sylvia of Brockton and was the wife of the late Brockton Police Chief James P. Cody and Sister in law of the late Julia M. Cody
