Barbara Jean (Gordineer) Von George Barbara Jean (Gordineer) Von George , 77, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 19, 2013. She was surrounded by the love and support of her children. She was born on November 4, 1935 in Peekskill, NY, the daughter of the late Hazel John Gordineer. She graduated from Peekskill High School in 1953. She was the adored wife of the late Heinrick Von George. She has been a resident of Brockton for over 42 years. In her younger days, she was active in the Cub Scouts, Campfire Girls, and the Brockton Community Schools. Her home, and heart, were always open to her children's friends. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, quilting and gardening. Barbara was an extraordinary mother and woman. She had a warm, generous, loving spirit. She was an inspiration to all who knew her for her ability to meet life's challenges with quiet grace and dignity. She amazed us all with her humble, no nonsense approach to life. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. The legacy of her selfless spirit will live on through them. She was the cherished mother of Cynthia of Brockton, Heinrick (Joelle), of Elizabeth City, NC, Gary (Tamara) of Laconia, NH, Timothy of Brockton, and Barbara of Abington. She was the devoted mother of the late Thomas and Michael Von George. She was the treasured Grandma of Thomas, Joseph, John, Michael, Alyson, Gabriella, Rebecca, Thomas, Victoria, Elizabeth, and Kristen. She is also survived by her loving siblings Nancy Hunt, Linda Martin, and Edward Gordineer, all of NY. In addition to her sons, Barbara was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Richard Gordineer, whom she loved dearly. Funeral Information A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 12:00PM in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt.123) Brockton, MA. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 11:00am-12:00pm.
