Barbara C. Holmes, 89, of Middleboro, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Morton Hospital in Taunton. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard S. Holmes.

Born on September 18, 1935, in Boston, Barbara was the daughter of the late Harold White and Marion (White) White. She grew up in Randolph and was a proud graduate of Archbishop Williams High School.

Barbara spent many years working as a Registered Nurse at the Brockton VA Medical Center. She had a love for traveling, gardening, and frequent shopping trips to Filene's and Macy's. Her children will forever cherish the homemade Christmas ornaments and family scrapbooks she lovingly created.

Barbara's compassion, strength, love, and selflessness were hallmarks of her character. She had a wonderful sense of humor that often surprised her family, sparking many long, joyful conversations around the kitchen table. The 4th of July was always a special time for the family, filled with the parade, delicious food, and endless games of volleyball.

Barbara is survived by her children: the late Shellie Young and her husband Steve, Brian Holmes and his wife Emily, Kevin Holmes, Brenda Pollack and her husband Leo, Kenneth Holmes and his wife Mary, and Sandi Deal and her husband Joe. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jamie Iavarone, Dena Connolly, Bruce Connolly, Rebecca Holmes, Jennifer Repoza, Kendra Holmes, Ethan Pollack, Branden Holmes, and Allyson Holmes; as well as her great-grandchildren: Angelina, Antonia, Noah, Simon, Julia, Cameron, and Logan.

Barbara's memory will live on in the hearts of her family, who will continue to be inspired by the love and strength she instilled in them.

Calling hours will be in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 17 Main St., (Rt105) Lakeville on Sunday, January 5th from 11:00AM-1:00PM. Interment will follow in Titicut Cemetery, Middleboro.
