Obituary

Barbara S. Mead, 82 years of Bridgewater died Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at home after a recent illness. Born in Stoughton, daughter of the late Orin and Margaret (Creteau) Sprague. Graduated of Stoughton High School, Class of 1938. Lived in Rockland over 40 years, formerly of Hanover, where she was a member of the Congregational Church. Mrs. Mead worked at Brigham’s for many years and retired after many years from ESL in Rockland. She was a devoted mother. She loved cooking, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, scrabble, music and playing Bingo with the ladies at Garden Terrace.

Survived by 2 daughters Drusilla (Mead) Dupuy of Texas and Margaret “Peggy” (Davis) Mulrooney of Bridgewater, with whom she made her home recently. 2 sons, Bruce C. Mead of Maryland and David E. Mead of New Hampshire and a sister Elinor Carroll of Florida, 10 grandchildren, Elsie Crouch, Dawn Dean, Craig Leyva, Melanie Hanna Midge Mulrooney, Erin Mulrooney, Dean Mead, Michael Mead, Elizabeth Mead, Kevin Mead, Scott Mead and several great grandchildren. Former wife of the late Edward S. Mead.

Private funeral services were held, burial was in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Donations in Barbara’s memory may be to CranberryHospice. 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
