Obituary

Barbara Ann Rollins Barbara Ann Rollins , 63, of Ruther Glen, Virginia and Massachusetts, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2011 under the care of her family and hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 28, 1947 in Spotsylvania, VA she was a daughter of the late Boyd and Addie (Wormley) Rollins. Raised and educated in Virginia. Barbara worked for Polaroid for over 25 years. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, seeing plays and dramas, cooking and jazz. Barbara enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. She also enjoyed decorating her home especially during the Christmas season. She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Tonya Treniece Lewis Harris and her husband Pastor Orlando Harris of Randolph and Traci Nicole Lewis of Atlanta, GA; her grandchildren, Orlando Brandon Harris and Kayla Nicole Harris both of Randolph; her nieces, Linda Rollins of New York, NY and Cindy Rollins of Fredericksburg, VA; her grand-nephew Robert Edwards of New York, NY; her mother-in-law, Hattie Lewis of Vineyard Haven; her God daughters, Lien Bigger and Rachel Bigger both of Boston. She is also survived by Dianne Strickland, a life-long friend and god mother of her daughters. She was the sister of the late Horace Rollins and Ruby Rollins. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the medical staff at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, especially J. Paul Marcoux, M.D. and Pam Calarese, MS, RN for their compassionate care of their mother during her illness. We would also like to thank the Hospice of Boston and Greater Brockton for their guidance during her final days. Funeral Information A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 in the Myrtle Baptist Church, 21 Curve St., Newton at 1:00pm.
