Obituary

Barbara L. (Beals) Ruth, age 82, of Brockton, died peacefully September 2, 2014, surrounded by her family. Barbara was the wife of the late Lewis R. Ruth. Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Dwight and Thelma (Dame) Beals. She was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1949 and lifelong member of Olivet Memorial Church in Brockton, where she was active in the Children’s and Music Ministries and was a soloist. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to cook for her family.
She was the mother of L. Robert Ruth and his wife Bethany of PA, Jane Andrews and her husband Tony of Easton, Holly Pyne and her husband Russell of Easton, Gregory Ruth of Easton and the late Vicky Lee Ruth; grandmother of Megan Lyons and her husband Rob of NH, Jacob, Nicholas and Rebecca Andrews; Abigail, James John and Daniel Ruth and Samuel, Callie and Charlotte Pyne and close cousin of Gerry “Sonny” Beals and his wife Arlene of Easton.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday 4-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday in the funeral home at 11am followed by burial in Melrose Cemetery.
