Online Obituaries Betty J.(Needham) Mercik, 88, of Brockton, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Joseph C. Mercik. Born March 6, 1926 in Seven Kings, England, she was the daughter of the late Harold Needham and Alice (Birch) Needham. Betty worked for Bradlees of Brockton for 30 years. She enjoyed horse shows and competition, music, dancing, reading and knitting. She is survived by her children, Allan Mercik of PA, Beryl Sullivan of Brockton, Wendy Mercik of Brockton, Pamela Foley of Brockton and Wanda Mercik of North Easton; she is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Charlene Mercik. Funeral Information Following cremation, a Memorial Gathering will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Saturday, April 26th from 1:00PM-3:30PM followed by a Memorial Service at 3:30PM.
