Beverly Fay died on December 28th, 2023. Beverly lived a life and loved in ways that are impossible to summarize, or really even grasp. She was fierce and scrappy, having tattooed herself with close friends at 13 as a symbol of pride for being a "dot rat". She never stopped being that street kid from Dorchester, even as she became so much more. Most notably, a mother. She embarked on motherhood with the heart of a street kid and a fierce devotion to learning and growing more into the role until her very last day. She would give anything and everything to champion those she loved. Her love and support were unconventional but most importantly unconditional. Her heart was full of curiosity and a capacity to forgive that rivaled saints. She modeled humanness openly - never shying away from an opportunity to laugh, cry, dance, hug, listen, apologize, and/or grow. She never hid her imperfections or scars and bared them for all brave enough to hold them as an invitation for collective healing. She fought cancer with the strength and stamina only a true dot rat could. While she will be deeply missed, hers is an energy that cannot be dulled by death, and we are all better because of it.
