Obituary

Beverly R. (Gasse) Hamilton, age 87, of West Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, died December 8, 2018 at her home, surrounded by family. Beverly was the wife for 67 years of Richard H. Hamilton (ret BFD). Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Otis) Gasse and was a 1949 graduate of Brockton High School. Beverly enjoyed raising her children and spending time with her family. She was also an avid gardener.

Beverly was the mother of Debra August of West Bridgewater, Lynne Shom of Brockton and the late Richard J. Hamilton; mother in law of Teresa Hamilton; grandmother of Nicholas Shom and his wife Erica, Amanda Zimmerman and her husband Peter, Jordan August and his wife Sarah and John Hamilton; great grandmother of Owen Shom and Jack and Benjamin August. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Janet Baxter, Mildred Hoyson, Gloria Sullivan, Sarah Chouinard, June Bell, Marguerite Fannon, Evelyn Chandler, Elizabeth Blatchford and Dorothy, Leon, Thomas, Harry and James Gasse.

Graveside services will be held in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater at a time to be announced in May, 2019. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beverly’s name to a charity of your choice.
