Obituary

Beverly Edwina (Sterling) Miller, affectionately known as Bevo was born on June 20, 1939, in Kingston, Jamaica. She was one of twelve children born to Percival and Rubena Sterling.

Beverly was a very curious and alert child. She had a thirst for learning, and so after graduating from primary school, she received additional education and training by attending Kingston Technical High School. She worked as a legal secretary, excelled in business administration, and as a result was in demand by various large corporations in Jamaica.

Beverly began her study of the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses at the age of 17. She then dedicated her life to Jehovah God and was baptized at the age of 18 in 1957. She was known for her zealous love of preaching and her desire to give everyone the opportunity to know and love her heavenly father Jehovah. She was eager to use scriptures and historical events to explain Bible prophecies and deeper truths to everyone. Even into her later years 'as soon as you mention Jehovah her face would light up with an enthusiastic smile and she could talk for hours about her kind, loving heavenly father. She was someone whose love for Jehovah and his righteous principles was solid and unwavering. She was willing and determined to do all that it would take to pass those principles onto her family and children.'

Beverly migrated to the United States in 1970 and was greatly missed by her mother and siblings. Beverly's mother said that when she migrated to America it was like a light had gone out in the family home. Shortly after her migration she met her future husband Harold in Boston, and they were married in January 1971. Harold and Beverly had two children Tanya and Joel.

Beverly is predeceased by her parents, her husband Harold Miller and nine of her siblings. She is survived by her Children: Tanya Miller, Joel Miller and his wife Erika Miller; Sisters: Barbara Grannum (NY), Judith Smith and her husband Sean Fredrick Smith (NJ) and Sisters-In-Law: Pearl Sterling (NJ), Icylin Sterling (JA), Sandra Sterling (FL), Sharon Sterling (JA); Brother-In-Law: Randall (Taddy) Fletcher (NY); along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

Beverly had a great sense of humor, truly loved all her family, the ocean, traveling, dancing to ska and reggae and listening to the Kingdom melodies. She was a devoted wife, beloved mother, precious sister, and special friend. She will be sorely missed.

We are excited to see her again and embrace her with warm hugs and kisses. We wait with eager anticipation until the day when we will see the fulfillment of Revelation 21:4 'And God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.'
