Online Obituaries Bruce W. Duquette (Retired Brockton Fire Department), 66, of Lakeville, passed away peacefully, Thursday morning April 10, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Mary Ellen (Pranskus) Duquette of 41 years. Born in Brockton, MA on June 23, 1947, he was the son of late Wilfred and Vivan (George) Duquette of Brockton, MA Bruce was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1965. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam war. He served honorably and received multiple Purple Hearts for his service. Bruce was a proud member of the Brockton Fire Department, retiring in 1989, after 13 years of service. During his lifetime, Bruce enjoyed vacationing on Cape Cod, in Dennis Port, with his family, traveling to Aruba, and golfing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He truly was the centerpiece that held his family and close friends together, hosting each and every holiday. In addition to his wife, Mary Ellen, he is survived by his loving daughters, Danielle (Duquette) Jigerjian and her husband Greg, of Yarmouth, MA; and Samantha Duquette of Centerville, MA; and his pride and joy, his granddaughter, Vivian Jigerjian. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Jerry Duquette and his wife Teresa of Brockton, MA; Frank Duquette and his wife Lorna of West Bridgewater, MA; Dale Duquette and his wife Judy of Brockton, MA; Beverly Shennet of Rockland, MA; Yvonne Shea of Blackstone, MA; Sharon Van Auken of Monroe, NC; and Kathy Gibbons of Maine; brother-in-laws Charles Parnskus and his wife Tina of Brockton, MA, and David Pranskus; sister-in-law Theresa (Pranskus) Bethoney and her husband Robert of Hanson, MA; many nieces and nephews; and his two granddogs, Molly and Winnie. He was the brother of the late Richard, Wilfred, Mark and Jeffrey Duquette, sisters Elizabeth Huxley and Judy Duquette, and his nephew and godchild Charlie Pranskus. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Wednesday, April 16th at 8:00AM thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 9:00AM. Interment will follow with full military honors in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home Tuesday 4:00-8:00PM.
