Obituary

Bruce E. Hayward, 63 years, lifelong of Brockton, died January 26, 2011, at his home, surrounded by family following a lengthy illness.

Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Richard and Ruth (Dart) Hayward. Bruce was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1966. He was proud to have served his country in the US Army during Vietnam and received the Purple Heart. Bruce enjoyed all kinds of music, fishing, camping and time spent with his family and many friends. Bruce will be remembered as a gentleman with a big heart full of love and generosity.

He is survived by his family and many friends who will miss him dearly.

Bruce’ life will be celebrated with military honors Friday at 2:45pm in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours are omitted.
