Caetano Alves Gomes Caetano Alves Gomes , 91, of Brockton, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Maria S. Joao Gomes. Born July 26, 1920 in Monte Largo, Fogo, Cape Verde, he was the son of the late Manuel Gomes and Guilhermina Alves. He is also survived by his children, Maria Filipa Gomes, Rito Alves Gomes, Eugenia Alves Gomes Mendes, Augusto Alves Gomes, Maria Zenaide Mendes, Florenca Alves Gomes and Maria Elvira Alves Gomes; also survived by 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday, November 14th at 9:00AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish at 10:00AM.
