Candida (Goncalves) Monteiro, 87, of Brockton, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at her home in Brockton under the care of her family. She was the wife of the late Cesario Monteiro. Born in Fogo, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Goncalves and Ana Ribeiro. Candida enjoyed spending time with her family and attending the Pentecostal Christ Lives Church in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She is survived by her children, Maria Goncalves, Manuel Monteiro, Adelina Gomes, Ana Mazziatto, Natalia Lopes, Maria Veiga and the late Antonio Gomes; her nieces, Adelaide Monteiro and Benvinda Baptista; her daughters-in-law, Maria Gomes and Judite Monteiro; she is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Laura Ribeiro and Amelia Goncalves. Funeral Services will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday, August 13th at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
