Obituary

Carlene louissaint, resident of Henderson, Nevada, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, 5 April 2023 at Summerlin Medical Center, Summerlin, Nevada. Carlene was born in Port Au Prince, Haiti to Ivette Louissaint and Joseph Charles on 19 May 1961. She is their second child, and the eldest daughter of Ivette's six children.

Carlene loved school and successfully completed elementary, and secondary school in Haiti. She immigrated to Maryland, U.S.A to take care of her mother, Ivette Louissaint. Soon after her move, she was excited to embark on an educational journey starting with becoming a Certified Medical Assistant. Even with two very small children she was dedicated to providing for her family, and lovingly help the patients she took care of, with all her heart.

In 1995, Carlene courageously decided to start fresh in Boston, Massachusetts. Taking her two young children and her mother, she drove 8 hours to Boston not knowing anything about the city or the people. She was willing to take a chance at more opportunities educationally and career-wise. Sure enough, she landed many opportunities to expand her experience as a C.N.A. For example, she became so proficient at her work that she was truly appreciated at Jewish Memorial Hospital/Radius Specialty Hospital for 15 years.

Carlene later became inspired to grow past her abilities by deciding to go back to school. Through the Service Employee International Union (SEIU), she entered an accredited high school program that would help her refresh her basic education, in which she excelled. After a few months she was ready to apply to college! She got accepted into the Quincy College Licensed Practitioner of Nursing Program in 2014. Spending hours seriously learning, studying, and absorbing everything she learned, Carlene successfully graduated and received her license to work as a Licensed Practitioner of Nursing in 2016. From then on, she proudly worked in many hospitals and long-term health facilities, serving her patients better than before and becoming a great example of an amazing and caring Nurse.

Carlene loved our Heaven Father and was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints in October 2004. She spent her life acting in faith, knowing that the Lord has a great plan for all of us. She was an amazing example of courage and determination to many, including her now grown children. She epitomized unconditional love, strength, honor, loyalty, honesty, forgiveness, selfless service, and joy. During her life, she loved to laugh, sing, share her stories and experiences, travel, cook, read, watch movies, dance, and spend time with family. She has lived in multiple places including Haiti, Panama, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Nevada. She has gotten to see fun places like Boston, New York City, Washington D.C, Las Vegas, Canada, and Dominican Republic. She had plans to continue seeing the world...Carlene will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She is loved so much for who she was and what she stood for.
