Carlota Fernandes Vieira Carlota Fernandes Vieira , 71, of Brockton died Monday, July 20, 2009 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. She was the wife of Manuel Vieira. Born January 5, 1938 in Brava, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of the late Joaquim Fernandes and Maria Goncalves. She was a resident of Brockton for 41 years. Carlota was a very active communicant of St. Edith Stein Parish. She enjoyed sewing and was devoted to her family. She is survived by her husband, Manuel Vieira of Brockton; her children, Roberto Fernandes of West Bridgewater, Daniel Fernandes of Easton, Alcides Fernandes Pina of West Bridgewater and Joao Fernandes Pina of Virginia; her stepmother, Angela Fernandes of Brockton; her 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Euridice Fernandes, Celeste Lamas, Maria Santos and John Fernandes all of Brockton and Clara Miranda of West Bridgewater. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Saturday, July 25th at 9:00AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein Parish/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 10:00AM.
