Carmen Lydia Baez, 75, of New Bedford passed away peacefully Monday, January 15, 2018 at St. Lukes Hospital in New Bedford surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Carlos E. Baez.
Born February 16, 1942 in Puerto Rico she was the daughter of the late Isidoro and Eladia (Gaetan) Lebron.
Carmen moved to New York at an early age and eventually to Brockton where she raised her family. Carmen worked for many years at Chadwick's in Bridgewater before retiring. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carmen accepted Christ at an early age and believed God would "always" provide.
She is survived by her children; Raquel, Ana, Noah, Abraham, Deborah, Carlos, Joel and Esther. Carmen is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Carmen and Charlie Baez.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 26th at 11:00AM in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St.,(Rt.123) Brockton. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 9:00 to 11:00AM.
